SiKanda carries out 3rd Youth Leaders Camp
- 13 adolescents participated from the Eastern Zaachila zone.
- The expression of proposals was promoted for the improvement of the community.
On the 18th and 19th of August, adolescents from the zone of Eastern Zaachila participated in the 3rd camp for Youth Promoters, which SiKanda A.C. held in the community of Huayapam, Oaxaca.
Through workshops, games, storytelling and other recreational activities, participants were sought to recognize themselves as actors who can generate favorable changes in their community.
In the same way, they reflected on the situations that hinder their development, (among them violence and social lag), for what they considered necessary to have (sports and recreation spaces), as well as better conditions of safety and health.
13 adolescents participated who were between the ages of 14 and 16 years old and live in the neighborhoods surrounding the metropolitan dump located in the village of Zaachila.
This activity is part of a program with which SiKanda intends to influence the development of skills and promotion of the rights of girls, boys and adolescents.
This project receives support from the Direct Help Program of the Australian Embassy in Mexico, the Empower Foundation, the Canadian Embassy and Social Promoter México.
